Weeekly Director's Post
Good morning,
It is hard to believe we are already at the end of April. This school year has just flown by at lightning speed. The next three weeks will be very busy and full of fun activities for the children and families of SCDC. Next week we begin our month of “celebrations” – we will celebrate Texas, Cinco de Mayo, and Mother’s & Father’s Day. We also gear up for the summer season by celebrating God’s gift of ocean life which goes along with our chapel lesson this month of Jonah. The bible verse is “Come follow me” Matthew 4:19. The children will finish up the alphabet with Y & Z as well as reviewing the entire alphabet. The color of the month is blue and the shape is crescent.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation week. Please make sure to read information sent to you by the room parents for the daily schedule of activities in regards to this. The staff appreciates all the love and kindness that you show them this school year. We all love your children very much and it is such an honor to be part of their early childhood education. Thank you for that privilege!!
Please mark your calendar for these upcoming events next week and beyond:
· Monday – Thursday – Teacher Appreciation Week
· Monday – Spring Program & Open House 6:30pm – Please have your child in their classroom by 6:15pm. (See flyer attached)
· Field Day – Wednesday, May 11th 9:30 – Noon – Rainbow, Orange & Green classes – we need parent volunteers this day to help with the stations to be able to make this run smoothly. If you can volunteer to help please email Suzanne at suncreekids@gmail.com.
· Field Day – Thursday, May 12th 9:30-Noon – All classes - we need many parent volunteers this day to help with the stations to be able to make this run smoothly. If you can volunteer to help please email Suzanne at suncreekkids@gmail.com.
· Pre K Graduation – Thursday, May 19th 11am & the last day of school for all students
SCDC Spring Program DVDs may be purchased for $5 each (cash or check made to SCDC) – order forms were sent home with your child in their folder and the form is attached to this email. As a reminder SCDC offers this option for our families as our programs are so well attended and we want to make sure parents are able to see their children perform. Please keep in mind I ask that you not come to the front middle isle of the sanctuary as that is where the camera for filming is. There were some issues at Christmas with parents stepping in front of the camera to catch a shot of their own child. I ask that you please not do that as parents pay for the DVD to see their child and it has to be edited due to bodies that are not part of the program and then children are not shown. I appreciate your understanding and consideration in this matter. It is a great keepsake for your family and a great gift for extended family members.

We need donations of cookies for our SCDC Spring Program and Open House on Monday, May 2nd at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to help, please bring your cookies to the Round Room either at drop off or pick up on May 2nd. Thanks so much for your support of SCDC!
A couple of reminders:
· May tuition is due next week
· Pick up is at 2:00pm – thank you for your help with this!!
· Please keep your child with you at all times before and after school while you are in the building. Please do not allow your children to play in the round room without proper supervision for safety reasons.

Weekly Director's Post
Good afternoon,
Thank you parents for planning and helping with this week’s Easter parties and egg hunts. The weather didn’t cooperate but the children still had a great day hunting for the eggs indoors. They had a blast and it was great to see so many of you able to come and share in the fun. If you are a Facebook fan of Suncreek Children’s Development Center I hope to have some pictures of the parties on there soon. I hope to be able to send some in an email to you on Monday.
Just a couple reminders for next week:

· Wednesday fire drill 9:30am
· A note will be coming next week in your child’s folder for cookie donations for the Spring Program on Monday, May 2nd. Look for that in your child’s folder Monday & Tuesday. The Spring Program and Open House is coming up on Monday, May 2nd at 6:30pm.

Director's Weekly Post
Good afternoon,
I hope you have all had a wonderful week! I can’t believe we only have 5 weeks of this school year left – that is just crazy! The last day of school is on Thursday, May 19th. In the coming weeks we are filled with many fun and exciting activities so please make sure to note all the upcoming dates for your calendar.
Next week Easter parties will take place on Wednesday for M/W Rainbow, Orange and Green and on Thursday for all other classes. Please make sure you have checked out any sign up sheets for items to sign up for and have checked the emails from room parents and party coordinators. Huge thanks to the parents that generously take the time to organize these fun events for the children. Please check with your child’s teacher if you are uncertain of the time the party will take place. Parents are always welcome to attend the parties!!
Here is a complete list of events that will take us thru the end of this school year:
April 20th – Easter party for M/W Rainbow, Orange and Green classes
April 20th - Pre K (Red, Sky Blue & Purple) Cap & Gown Pictures by Photo Design – starting at 9:15am
April 21st – Easter party for all other classes
April 25th – 28th – Family Chapel
April 27th – Fire Drill 9:30am
May 2nd - Spring Program & Open House (this is for all students) starting at 6:30pm
May 2nd – May 5th – Teacher Appreciation Week (Look for more information from your classroom’s room parents coming soon)
May 11th – Field Day for M/W Rainbow, Orange and Green classes (Between 9:30-Noon)
May 12th Field Day for all other classes (Between 9:30-Noon)
May 16th – Fire Drill 9:45am
May 18th – End of the Year class parties for M/W Rainbow, Orange and Green classes as well as Pr eK (Red, Sky Blue and Purple classes) – more information will be coming about the event soon)

Pre K (Red, Sky Blue and Purple) Graduation 11:00 am in the Suncreek Sanctuary and a catered meal from Dickey’s in Palmer Hall immediately following the ceremony (invitations will be coming home in your child’s folder soon.)
End of the Year parties for T/TH Rainbow, Orange, Green, Yellow, Silver and Blue Classrooms
Update:
I am happy to announce that SCDC families donated a total of $732.00 to the Kathleen Baskin-Ball Memorial Garden from the lemonade stand last week. We have such a generous and loving community!!! Thank you so much!!
April tuition is due at this time. All supply fees for next school are now past due – if you still owe that payment please do as soon as possible – thank you!
A parent survey will be sent home on May 3rd. This year we are trying a different format and it will be an online survey instead of a paper one. If anyone would rather have the paper survey instead please let me know and you will be provided one. The feedback given from the surveys every year helps us to know what areas we do well in and the areas that need improvement. This is what makes SCDC such a special place!!
Next week we will continue to build up to Easter in chapel and the children will continue studying that in their classrooms as well. This is such a special time of the year and I love seeing how the children grasp the true meaning of Easter beyond the eggs and bunnies J Have a wonderful weekend!
