I hope you all have had a great week! The children have had fun in their classes this week doing activities involving the five senses and winter activities. In chapel we continue our bible story with creation and our bible verse – “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!” This week we discussed the story of God creating Adam and Eve. Next week I invite parents to come to family chapel time to see what the children have been learning this month and share the time with your child. We did have a fire drill this morning and the children did great!!

Weekly Director's Update
Good Afternoon! What a busy week we have had! Looking forward to a long weekend - Remember that we do not have school on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King's Birthday.
Update of Faith the Cow and Heifer International - SCDC raised $300. With the recent earthquake in Haiti and need for aide, Heifer has issued an emergency appeal for funds to help families recover from the destruction. As a school, we decided to donate the entire $300 to this effort. We feel that this money will go to a great cause for people who are suffering greatly. Thank you for all of your donations.
Next week in Centers, the children will have a cooking/food activity on Tuesday and Wednesday. The activity is Winter Snowballs. Please see the recipe below if you would like to try it at home.
1 box white cake mix (baked as directed)
1 can vanilla frosting
Powdered Sugar
Clear Wilton Sprinkles
Pam Cooking Spray
Bake the cake according to the box and let cool. Crumble the cake into a bowl and empty 1/2 of the can of frosting into the bowl. Mix together and chill for 2 hours. Lightly spray hand with cooking spray and roll a spoonful of dough into a ball in your hands. Mix powdered sugar and sprinkles. Roll the ball into the sprinkle mixture and enjoy!
Next Thursday, January 21st - Fire Drill
